A mural in the Baltic Triangle depicting a laughing Jurgen Klopp has been painted over. The artwork, painted to celebrate Liverpool's clinching of the Premier League title after a 30 year wait, was grafted onto Jamaica Street in June 2020.

The work, completed by the Liverpool artist Caleb, showed Klopp's beaming, toothy smile next to the words "We are Liverpool 2020!" and a Liver bird clutching the Premier League trophy. The artwork, against a rainbow backdrop, was next to the iconic Baltic Triangle Liver Bird Wings mural.
Painted over
But new pictures taken on Saturday show the Klopp mural has been whitewashed over. Yellow writing on the painted-over wall says "murals pending".
Speaking previously to the ECHO about why he decided to paint the mural, Caleb said: "Liverpool have just made history and there's a great atmosphere in the city at the moment. It just needed to be done. Someone had to do it so I decided it was going to be me."
Previous mural remains
The Jamaica Street Klopp artwork was the second to feature the German former LFC boss. A mural showing Klopp next to the slogan "This is Liverpool - This Means More" was painted by Manchester artist Akse in 2018. It remains on the corner of Jordan Street and is a popular tourist destination.
