Judy Finnigan has recalled meeting Dolly Parton in the 1990s, describing the star's perfume, beauty and wit during an interview at Liverpool's Albert Dock.

Writing for the Express, Finnigan remembered the day Parton flew to Liverpool to be interviewed live on This Morning, then set at the city's Albert Dock. The early morning sun was shining on the deep red colonnades of the dock when she arrived, and Parton remarked: "My goodness, this is beautiful. You're so lucky to work here!"
Finnigan noted three things that stood out from the encounter. The first was Parton's perfume, which she described as "absolutely gorgeous." The second was how "incredibly pretty" she was, exceeding expectations despite being a known beauty. The third was how funny she was, with Finnigan observing that Parton was "genuinely and spontaneously witty."
A memorable quip
During the interview, Richard Madeley commented on Parton's feet, saying: "Wow. You have the tiniest feet, don't you?" Parton replied without missing a beat: "Well, nothing grows much in the shade, honey."
Finnigan concluded: "Rest in peace, Dolly. You leave us on a tide of purest love."
