Jonathan Ross' son Harvey, 32, made a rare public appearance on Tuesday night, joining his famous father at Death Note The Musical in London's West End. Harvey, who has stayed out of the public eye for several years, looked unrecognisable, having swapped his short blond hair for a longer style.
Family outing at the theatre
Broadcaster Jonathan, 65, was accompanied by his wife, screenwriter Jane Goldman, 56, and Harvey's fiancée, Muna Silver. The couple's engagement was announced by Jonathan just over a year ago. Harvey and Muna both wore matching black outfits despite the capital's high temperatures, while Jonathan opted for a relaxed open-buttoned shirt and Jane wore a floral dress.
Harvey is one of three children Jonathan shares with Jane. Their daughters Betty, 35, and Honey, 29, were not present. Harvey keeps a low profile, with no public social media account, while Muna is active online and often shares her photography.
Engagement revealed on podcast
Last year, Jonathan disclosed Harvey's engagement during an appearance on Jessie and Lennie Ware's Table Manners podcast. When asked if Harvey dressed as superheroes as a child, Jonathan said: "Not really. We raised them all in a kind of somewhat gender non-specific environment, so whatever they wanted to do."
He added: "Harvey has got the longest hair in the family, and largely unwashed. He doesn't wash it often because he's part of that gang who think you shouldn't use soaps!" Jonathan's daughter Honey interrupted to confirm the engagement, and Jonathan revealed: "They're thinking of starting a family next year."
Family connections and background
Muna first appeared on Jonathan's social media in 2018 and appeared on Celebrity Gogglebox five years ago with the family. During the show, she joked about watching the drama Sex/Life with Jonathan, calling it "fun".
Jonathan and Jane met when she was 16 at a promotional event, as Jane told The Times: "I met Jonathan at some sort of promotional event. He'd just started his show The Last Resort. He'd only been doing it for two weeks, I think." They married two years later. Honey, who works as a screenwriter like her mother, is active publicly and shares posts with her partner Gav Murphy. Betty lives with chronic health issues, including fibromyalgia, chronic fatigue syndrome, and postural tachycardia syndrome.
