US actor Johnny Depp has transformed into Ebenezer Scrooge in a first look at Ti West's adaptation of A Christmas Carol.
In a new poster released by Paramount Pictures, fans were given a glimpse at upcoming film Ebenezer, in which Depp stars as the titular character – a bitter miser who despises Christmas.
The award-winning actor, 63, is seen in a close-up photo wearing a top hat and peering mysteriously into the camera, as snow falls around him.

The poster reads: “Before he was Scrooge, he was Ebenezer.”
The caption confirms his role as penny-pincher Scrooge, and says: “The name you know. The story you don’t.”
The post also says the film is scheduled for release in November this year.
About the film
Ebenezer has been described as a dark fantasy adaptation of Charles Dickens’ classic novella, A Christmas Carol.
Set in Victorian London, the story begins on Christmas Eve as miserly businessman Scrooge is visited by ghosts of his past, present and future who encourage him to change his greedy ways before it is too late.
The upcoming adaptation will be directed by US filmmaker West, who is best known for his work in horror films, having worked on The Roost and The House Of The Devil.
Cast and production
Depp is known for portraying eccentric and unconventional characters, and has featured in films such as The Pirates Of The Caribbean franchise, Charlie And The Chocolate Factory, Edward Scissorhands and Sleepy Hollow.
Earlier this year, the Hollywood star was photographed filming in London in character as Scrooge.
Depp posted several snaps on his Instagram on Thursday, spelling out part of Scrooge's signature catchphrase: “Bah, humbug!”
He will feature alongside a star-studded cast, which includes Harry Potter actor Rupert Grint, Lord Of The Rings star Sir Ian McKellen and Star Wars: The Force Awakens actress Daisy Ridley.
Others include Sam Claflin, who is known for The Hunger Games franchise, and romance films such as Love, Rosie and Me Before You.
Moss & Freud star Ellie Bamber, The Inbetweeners' Henry Lloyd-Hughes and US actor and comedian Charlie Murphy will also appear in the film, with Andrea Riseborough, Arthur Conti and Tramell Tillman.
