In the latest episode of Homes Under the Hammer, presenter Jacqui Joseph delivered a blunt verdict on a dated three-bedroom home in Wymondham, Norfolk, while Martin Roberts explored a Birmingham property missing a kitchen.
Dated interior in Wymondham
Jacqui visited a three-bedroom semi-detached home in the historic market town, which boasted a sought-after location near transport links and amenities. However, the interior was far from impressive, with textured ceilings, ageing electrics, and an old-fashioned bathroom on the ground floor.
"Straight into your hallway, very neat," she said. "You've got textured ceilings, dated electrics. To my left, there is a full bathroom. That's dated, that needs to go."
Kitchen verdict and boiler criticism
Her verdict on the kitchen was equally frank: "The place is so dated. It really is. The size is not too bad, rip it all out and start again."
Jacqui's biggest criticism came upstairs, where she found the boiler in the smallest bedroom. She admitted she was not a "fan" of the boiler's location, and revealed her main disappointment: "What is disappointing is that there isn't a bathroom up here."
Martin Roberts' property insights
Meanwhile, Martin explored a three-bedroom house in Birmingham that lacked a kitchen entirely. Over the show's 23-year history, Martin, who has hosted since 2003, told The Sun: "In that time I've seen the good, the bad and the ugly."
He added: "We have gone through four or five financial crises where people say, ‘Property is doomed. It’s going to implode. We’re all going to lose our money'. Here we are 21 years on and I think property is still a sensible thing to look at putting your money into."
