Isla Fisher has revealed she is “much stronger” than she thought she was, speaking about her life after her split from Sacha Baron Cohen in 2023. The actress was promoting her new comedy film Spa Weekend, which also stars Anna Faris, Leslie Mann and Michelle Buteau.
New film marks a fresh chapter
Spa Weekend, which arrives in cinemas on August 21, comes from the creators of The Hangover and Bad Moms. The plot follows three friends on a relaxing spa trip that is hijacked by their “trainwreck” pal, leading to hilarious consequences.
At the film's premiere, Fisher told E! News: “I would say that I’m much stronger than I thought I was.” She added: “My friendships, my female friendships have really been instrumental to me discovering or recovering that strength. And so I’m incredibly grateful.”
Fans eagerly await release
Fisher previously described the split as “the most difficult thing I’ve ever been through” in The Sunday Times. Fans have been reacting to the upcoming release on social media, with one X user posting: “It’s been a while since we’ve had a chick flick in cinema, look forward to watching it.” Another wrote: “August 21 can’t come soon enough!”
One fan called it “my most anticipated film of the year”, while another tweeted: “This is one of the BEST casts ever!! Can't wait!!”
Promotional tie-in with Revlon
In a photoshoot to promote the film, the cast used the Revlon One-Step™ PowerMove Dryer, with Revlon partnering with the movie. The tool, launching at the end of August, weighs 280 grams and comes with four interchangeable attachments, allowing each actress to achieve a different look – Michelle opted for natural curls, Leslie for a polished blow-dry, Anna for glossy straight hair, and Isla for a full-bodied volume style.
