Good Morning Britain reporter Ashna Hurynag has confirmed she will be back on the ITV show next week after viewers noticed her absence. The correspondent, who joined the programme at the start of 2026, took to Instagram to update her followers on her whereabouts.

Since joining the breakfast show, Hurynag has covered major stories including the World Cup, railway fraud, and celebrity weddings. One notable assignment was Taylor Swift's marriage to Travis Kelce, which took her to New York for live coverage outside the reported ceremony venue.
In an Instagram post, she shared behind-the-scenes clips from her time in America, including a livestream link-up with Richard Arnold on the show. She revealed that the crew stayed awake for 20 hours to report on the wedding and that she had to wear the same dress in 42-degree heat twice, calling the chat with 'Uncle Richard' a gift.

Announcing her return, she wrote: "PS. for those lovely people asking - back on-air next week, been soaking up some rays having some randr."
Hurynag isn't the only one missing from GMB, as regular presenters Susanna Reid and Ed Balls are also on their summer break. Reid confirmed her absence on social media, bidding farewell to director Stuart Earl, who is leaving after a decade.
In her post, Reid wrote: "SHOES OFF, OUT OF OFFICE ON! Time for my summer break - but also time to say goodbye to our wonderful Director @stuearl, who has been the champion of this programme for a decade. Thank you for everything, Stuart." She added that she and Balls will return on September 1st.
Her "waste of time" remark references an awkward moment with Robert Jenrick, who was heard saying "Well, that was a waste of time" after an interview. Good Morning Britain airs on ITV weekdays from 6am.
