Fiona Bruce's Children Follow in Famous Mum's Footsteps
Fiona Bruce's Children Follow in Her Footsteps

Fiona Bruce, the familiar face of BBC's Antiques Roadshow and Question Time, is a proud mother to two children, Mia and Sam, whom she shares with her husband Nigel Sharrocks. Nigel is a businessman and non-executive chairman of Digital Cinema Media, which has supplied cinema advertisements to Cineworld, Odeon, and Vue for 30 years. Before that, he was Managing Director of Warner Bros Pictures UK in the 2000s.

Children's Careers

Mia, born in November 2001, previously worked for Ginger Owl Productions, described as "a full-service live events production company" specialising in artist liaison management and event and production management. She also studied economics at university.

Sam, born in January 1998, followed in his mother's footsteps by working as a researcher for the BBC before becoming an assistant producer. He also works as a director and photographer, with his website noting experience in "scripted drama and factual TV, as well as corporate and event videography and photography."

Balancing Motherhood and Career

Fiona has been open about motherhood, telling Good Housekeeping in 2021 that she balanced her career by "having the same nanny living with us for 20 years." She explained, "I don't think there's such a thing as quality time with your children. I think it's quantity. But there's never been any question that they take precedence over everything in my life, and always have done."

She has also spoken of guilt at being a working mum, having been raised by her stay-at-home mother Rosemary. In 2018, she told the Radio Times, "She stopped working when she had her first child and never went back. My parents' set-up was very traditional. I do judge my parenting skills against hers and often find myself falling short. She was always there, but I'm not."

Antiques Roadshow airs every Sunday at 6:30pm on BBC One.
