Emmerdale viewers saw Dawn Taylor die in heartbreaking scenes on Sunday night, as Olivia Bromley, 30, bid a teary farewell to the character she had played since 2018. Dawn died moments after giving birth early, following the wedding car crash explosion that also killed off Jimmy King, when a sudden hemorrhage stopped her heart.
As Olivia bows out of the Emmerdale village after eight years, here is a look at her life away from the hit ITV soap.
Band and music career
Olivia fronts the London band Damsen, a five-piece outfit. The band has recorded songs including Something Good and This Isn't Love, with Olivia providing 'hazy vocals' and tracks featuring a downtempo rhythm and sleek guitar riffs. Olivia has shared various clips of herself singing and performing with the band on her Instagram.
Olivia previously spoke to The Mirror about her musical ambitions, saying she admired the hidden music talents of Dean Andrews, who played her on-screen father Will Taylor. Like Dawn, Will was killed off in 2024.
She said in 2022: "I suppose we're like the Von Trapps. He's a fantastic singer. We have an Emmerdale band that various cast members sing in, but because of Covid we haven't been able to do any gigs."
Co-star best friend
Following her Emmerdale exit, many of Olivia's co-stars shared their sadness, with Natalie Ann Jamieson, who played Amy Wyatt, posting a heartfelt message. Like Dawn, Amy was tragically killed off the ITV soap in 2025.
Natalie penned: "Can't believe we're saying goodbye to Dawny, the village won't be the same without her - but Amy will be happy to have a friend in the sky. @oliviabromley_ you are a superstar - you have smashed this last week."
She added: "I feel so lucky Emmerdale brought us together. From that first date over steak, to helping me stand up straight in front of the paps, two Glasto's, Belfast, Montenegro and a whole Covid in our bubble. Too many incredible memories to mention. I b****y love you and we are so happy we get to forever have a little Livvy in our lives" with heart hand emojis.
