James Farrar, known for playing Zack Hudson in EastEnders, has had a varied career path that includes modelling before his acting breakthrough. He first appeared as Zack in 2021 and has since been involved in several notable storylines, including his HIV diagnosis and the tragic loss of his baby Peach.
Recent Storylines and Revelations
Last year, Zack was revealed to be the biological father of Barney Mitchell (Lewis Bridgeman). Zack discovered the truth after overhearing a hospital conversation about blood types, leading him to realize that Teddy (Roland Manookian) could not have fathered Barney.
In the latest episode, which aired on Monday and is now streaming on BBC iPlayer, Zack supported his son as Barney admitted to hiding the hammer left at the scene of Joel Marshall's (Max Murray) attack. Barney also told his dad that he saw Nugget Gulati (Juhaim Rasul Choudhury) burying something in the allotment on the same night. The pair searched and found marijuana, with Zack deciding to inform Ravi (Aaron Thiara) despite Barney's objections.
From Modelling to Acting
Before his acting career, Farrar worked as a model, fronting campaigns for Jimmy Choo opposite Nicole Kidman, River Island opposite Barbara Palvin, and Playboy's 40th anniversary opposite Kate Moss. However, he quit modelling after his mother became ill.
He previously told The Sun's TV Mag: "Prior to this job, I was a model and flying to Milan, then to New York, then to Paris. I think it was a blessing that I took the job on EastEnders because Summer, my little baby, wouldn't have arrived if I was still doing the silly hours and travelling I was doing with modelling."
He added: "One of the reasons I joined EastEnders was because of my mum, who has cancer. It meant that if these are my last days with her, we spent them together rather than me travelling the world."
In addition to EastEnders, Farrar has also appeared in the British TV shows Call the Midwife and Silent Witness.
