Coronation Street star Kimberly Hart-Simpson has revealed she is "back living in student halls" six years after finding fame on the ITV soap. The 39-year-old actress, known for playing escort Nicky Wheatley, shared a humorous update on social media as she prepares to take her play Amnesia to the Edinburgh Fringe.
Living Arrangements Update
In an Instagram post on Monday afternoon, Hart-Simpson wrote: "I am officially back living in student halls during Ed run. I don't know who all of my housemates are yet. But I hope they like ne and we take it in turns changing the bin. Also pray I ain't the biggest sl*g when we inevitably play never have i ever!"
The actress, who has also appeared in Hollyoaks, Brassic, and Celebs Go Dating, is performing at the Pleasance Theatre as part of the Edinburgh Fringe, which attracts around three million visitors annually and stages more than 1,000 new productions each summer.
Festival and Play Details
Many famous faces, including Catherine Tate, Sarah Millican, and Rowan Atkinson, started their careers at the festival. Hit musical Six also premiered there as a university production before achieving success in the West End and Broadway.
Written and performed by Hart-Simpson, Amnesia sees her playing Kelly, a dementia carer in Rhyl who risks losing everything when her best friend announces she is moving to a city with a Pret a Manger.
Coronation Street Return
Hart-Simpson first appeared on Coronation Street in 2020 and has made guest appearances since, the latest in 2024. In early 2025, she told The Mirror: "We met Nicky four years ago and I'm still going," adding that her stint was initially supposed to be brief but she keeps "popping back and facilitating storylines."
She added: "That's the great thing about soaps, you chop and change into other characters' lives. Of course I'd consider going back – I look at that time with such fond memories and have such positive emotions towards the show."
