Claudia Winkleman will narrate a CBeebies Bedtime Story, reading Monkeypig on October 1 – the same day the second series of The Celebrity Traitors debuts on BBC One.
The 54-year-old presenter, who was replaced on Strictly Come Dancing, will read the book, written and illustrated by Huw Aaron, at 6.50pm on CBeebies and BBC iPlayer.
Monkeypig's tale
Monkeypig follows Molly, who lives contentedly among the monkeys in the jungle while concealing the fact she is a pig. When Norman suspects an impostor has crept into the group, he subjects everyone to a series of monkey tests.
Much like the traitors in Winkleman's BBC One reality gameshow, Molly endeavours to remain undetected as the tests unfold.
Winkleman on parenthood
Reflecting on her own experience of parenthood, Winkleman said: "When it comes to my kids, I've loved all the chapters.
"I love them when they are little, I love them when they are squishy, I love them when they are toddlers, I also love them when they are 23, like my eldest.
"Every little bit is a gift and I am so happy to have them. I'm looking forward to all of it. I'm really really looking forward to being a grandma. No pressure guys.
"I am a deep embarrassment to my children because I'm too orange, my lipstick is too white and I wear too much black, so they find me excruciating and that's just how it should be, I embarrass them but that's our job.
"So if you find your parents embarrassing that's good, it means they're smashing it."
Famous faces on CBeebies
Winkleman joins a host of famous faces in delivering a bedtime story on the children's channel this year, including Spider-Man star Tom Holland, Moana's Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson, Balamory's Miss Hoolie, Pulp frontman Jarvis Cocker, and The Jonas Brothers' Nick Jonas.
It comes as presenting trio Emma Willis, Josh Widdicombe and Johannes Radebe hosted their first Strictly live show, stepping into the roles previously held by Winkleman and Tess Daly. The trio split presenting responsibilities with Willis and Widdicombe by the judges' table while Radebe welcomed the dancers on the balcony ahead of the score reveal.
