Harriet Cowan, a star of Clarkson's Farm, is set to release a new book titled Life on the Farm, which will hit bookshops on Thursday, September 10. The book marks a new chapter for the former nurse, who rose to fame after appearing on the Amazon Prime series.
From Nursing to Farming Stardom
Cowan, now 25, first appeared on Clarkson's Farm in series four and quickly became a fan favourite for standing her ground against Jeremy Clarkson. Her role in series five further cemented her popularity. The show, which premiered in 2021, follows daily life on Clarkson's 1,000-acre farm in Chadlington near Chipping Norton.
Reflecting on her sudden fame, Cowan described the experience as overwhelming, with her social media following surging by hundreds of thousands within hours. She told the Fed By Farmers podcast: "It was just insane, and I just feel bad for my friends more than anything, because I want to just be that girl in Young Farmers that nobody knows and I'm never that, I'm never going to be that again."
New Ventures and Book Announcement
In 2025, Cowan launched her YouTube channel, Harriet on the Farm, which has amassed over one million views and more than 35,000 subscribers. Now, she is turning her farming experiences into a literary project.
Announcing the book on Instagram, she called it "such a personal project," adding: "Inside, I share what the farming way of life truly means, the values I live by, and of course what a typical day on the farm really looks like. I also wanted to open up about the challenges and realities Britain's farmers are facing today, and why buying local isn't just a slogan - it's a way of life."
She also reflected on her family's farming heritage: "It's so much more than putting food on the table - it's community, love, resilience, and hard work every single day. I can't wait to share my story with you all."
