Bella Ramsey, James Norton, and Jessica Gunning attended the premiere of their upcoming film Sunny Dancer in London.
A Coming-of-Age Comedy
The coming-of-age comedy, directed by George Jaques, stars Games of Thrones actor Ramsey, 22, as cancer survivor Ivy.
The film’s official synopsis reads: “As if conquering cancer wasn’t hard enough, 17-year-old Ivy’s parents sign her up to spend her summer at what she calls ‘chemo camp’, where she manages to find unexpected friends and romance in a group of misfits and has a summer she’ll never forget.”
Star-Studded Cast
Sunny Dancer also stars Happy Valley’s Norton and Baby Reindeer’s Gunning, as well as Neil Patrick Harris, Earl Cave, Daniel Quinn-Toye, Ruby Stokes, Jasmine Elcock, and Conrad Khan.
On Thursday night, they all attended the film’s London premiere at the Genesis Cinema.
Distributor Praise
The film’s distributor Quiver has called it a “deeply moving story”, with co-presidents Berry Meyerowitz and Jeff Sackman adding: “From the moment we saw it, we knew this was a film that demanded to be experienced collectively in a theatre – laughing, crying and cheering together.”
“It is exactly the kind of fresh, unforgettable cinema that reminds us why we love going to the movies.”
After premiering at the 76th Berlin International Film Festival in February, Sunny Dancer will be released in cinemas on August 14.
