Arsenal have unveiled a bold new crest, but it is not for the pitch. The Aircrafted Arsenal Crest is a 2.4-metre-high sculpture made from 84 components upcycled from Airbus A380 and Boeing 777 aircraft, created by Emirates Engineering in Dubai and flown to London for unveiling at the club's ground.
Design and Construction
The famous cannon, present in every version of the club emblem since 1905 and the inspiration for the nickname The Gunners, is formed from an A380 wheel hub and a titanium air duct. Sheets of 777 aluminium fuselage skin make up the face of the shield, with cargo tracks adapted for the outer edge and internal structure. The Arsenal lettering is shaped from aircraft windows.
A team of 15 engineers, designers, mechanics, technicians, and painters took 34 days to assemble the sculpture.
Partnership Celebrated
The project brings together aviation engineering precision with elite sport discipline, according to Arsenal. The partnership with Emirates has been extended to 2033.
The crest was unveiled by Sir Tim Clark, president of Emirates Airline, and Richard Garlick, chief executive of Arsenal, ahead of a match against Borussia Dortmund at the Emirates Cup.

The Aircrafted Arsenal Crest will be permanently displayed in Emirates’ hospitality space at Emirates Stadium.
