M&S has launched a new designer collaboration with London-based streetwear brand Aries, drawing on its archive. The collection, which has a distinctly vintage feel and prices starting from £10, is selling out fast.
Inspired by the St Michael Archive
Following collaborations with Bella Freud, 16Arlington, and Olive Von Halle, M&S's latest drop takes inspiration from St Michael, a former in-house M&S label. The Aries collection spans baby tees, tote bags, ties, and boxer shirts. It also includes a teddy bear keyring, described as the fashion set's new alternative to a Labubu.
Born in 2009, Aries was founded by designer Sofia Prantera and graphic designer Fergus Purcell. Inspired by London's skate culture, the gender-neutral label quickly grew a cult following due to its bold graphic prints and anti-establishment slogans.
Key Pieces and Design Features
Aries has reworked the iconic St Michael logo, which featured on M&S products throughout the 20th century as a nod to M&S's founder, Michael Marks. In the collection, the contemporary logo is a standout feature on pointelle tops, a green and black tie, and striped boxers with matching oversized shirts.
Other pieces include pretty sheer floral slips and cami tops, alongside menswear that puts a playful spin on masculinity, with white T-shirts illustrated by teddy bears and pinstripe suits in oversized cuts.
What to Shop Now
