Prince George is just weeks away from a major milestone as the summer holidays approach, with a significant decision looming over his next educational step. The young prince, who will celebrate his 13th birthday next month, is set to depart from Lambrook School in Berkshire on July 4, marking the end of the final term before the summer break.
End of an Era at Lambrook
Lambrook, which George has attended since 2022, only educates children up to the age of 13. His siblings, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis, are expected to remain at Lambrook until they too reach that age and move on to their next schools. The school has been a familiar environment for the royal children, but George's departure signals a new chapter.
Potential Next Schools
Kensington Palace has not yet confirmed which school George will attend next, but speculation points to several prestigious institutions. Eton College in Windsor, the alma mater of his father, Prince William, is a strong contender due to its proximity to the family's Forest Lodge home. Other possibilities include Marlborough College, which his mother, Princess Catherine, attended, and Oundle School. Unlike Eton, both Marlborough and Oundle are co-educational, which could allow Princess Charlotte to join her brother when she eventually moves schools.
Boarding School Transition
It is widely expected that George will board at his next school, a significant change for the family, who have always lived together. However, Prince William recently revealed that George has been boarding some nights at Lambrook, likely to prepare him for this transition. The announcement of George's new school is anticipated during the summer holidays, though an exact date has not been set.
