Netflix's 'Most Underrated Crime Thriller' Tops 2026 Shows

Netflix's adaptation of Alice Feeney's novel His & Hers has been declared the most significant new series of 2026 thus far, according to recent viewership data. The crime thriller, which premiered in January, quickly ascended to the top of the streaming platform's charts and has maintained a strong presence throughout the year.

Critical Acclaim and Viewership

Described by one critic as "unhinged, ridiculous, sexy, and sensational," the six-part limited series has been praised for its gripping narrative and strong performances. Another review labelled it "one of Netflix's most underrated crime thrillers." The show stars Jon Bernthal, known for his role in The Punisher, alongside Tessa Thompson, a Marvel Cinematic Universe alum. The story unfolds in the sweltering heat of Atlanta, following Anna, a reclusive former news anchor who becomes embroiled in a murder investigation in her hometown of Dahlonega. Detective Jack Harper grows suspicious of her involvement, leading to a tense cat-and-mouse game where every character has something to hide.

According to Nielsen data reported by Variety, His & Hers amassed 25.6 million views in the United States between January and March 2026. This performance outpaced new seasons of Fallout, High Potential, and Bridgerton, as well as Yellowstone spin-offs like The Madison and Marshals. In the United Kingdom, YouGov reported 33.3 million views for January alone, making it one of the biggest new releases, surpassed only by returning seasons of Bridgerton, Fallout, Stranger Things, and Harlan Coben's Run Away. Overall, Netflix lists His & Hers as the 10th most viewed show on the platform, with 98.2 million global views. Only three other limited series have performed better: The Queen's Gambit, Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story, and Adolescence.
