Deyes High School in Maghull has been closed today (Tuesday, September 29) after an issue with its water supply left the site unsafe. Parents were informed of the closure in a message sent out this morning.
Message to parents
The message, seen by the ECHO, told parents that the school on Deyes Lane would be closed for the day. It said: "Unfortunately, due to an issue with the school water supply, school will be closed for the day. School site is not safe until water is restored for staff and student use."
The message added: "More details will follow as soon as we have them."
Closure confirmed
A staff member at the school confirmed the closure to the ECHO. They said the problems with the water developed overnight and that they are working to resolve it "as soon as possible".
No further details have been released about when the water supply will be restored or when the school will reopen.
