A former science teacher at a private school in Florida has been arrested on charges of engaging in sexual activity with an underage student, after allegedly using a shared Google document to groom the victim.
Elias Gordon Farley, 26, was taken into custody on December 4, following a report made by the victim on November 18. The alleged abuse took place at the Donna Klein Jewish Academy in Boca Raton, where Farley taught science. The school confirmed on December 5 that he is no longer employed there.
According to the arrest affidavit, the interactions began as casual conversations during the previous school year. Over the summer, Farley allegedly created a shared Google Doc where the two exchanged messages. Investigators said the document contained explicit entries describing sexual activity and plans to meet privately.
The victim told detectives the relationship became physical in mid-September, with incidents occurring in Farley's office and a classroom. The encounters allegedly escalated to oral sex and intercourse by late September and October. The student also claimed she visited Farley's apartment twice in early November, where further sexual encounters took place.
Police executing a search warrant at Farley's home found condom wrappers and furniture matching the victim's description. His roommate confirmed he was not home on the dates in question. CCTV footage from the school showed Farley and the student entering his office together on November 7 and later a classroom for about an hour.
The alleged crimes came to light after the student spoke to an art teacher on November 14, showing bruises and bite marks she attributed to Farley. He was suspended the following day. Farley is being held on a $500,000 bond at the Palm Beach County Main Detention Center. Police continue to investigate and urge anyone with information to contact the Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office.
