A former primary school head teacher has been banned from the profession after making a series of sexual comments to female colleagues. Paul Scott, 54, led Arboretum Primary School in Derby from 2016 until his suspension in 2019 following staff complaints.
A Teaching Regulation Agency panel heard evidence from several women detailing inappropriate remarks. Scott told one colleague he had dreamed about her having larger breasts, and commented to another that he was disappointed not to see her in Lycra. He also referred to female staff as 'the pretty one' and 'the blond one'.
The panel found Scott sexually harassed a colleague by making comments about her tops and hugging her against her wishes. He admitted making some comments but denied they were unprofessional in context. The panel concluded his conduct fell 'significantly short' of professional standards.
Scott received a prohibition order, barring him from teaching in any school or children's home in England until at least November 2024. The Derby Diocesan Academy Trust, which runs the school, said it suspended him immediately and referred the case to the TRA.
