How well do you remember the rules of the road? A new quiz pulls together 10 questions from the official DVSA driving theory test to show how much you know about the Highway Code.
Why Brush Up on the Highway Code?
Every driver remembers the nerve-wracking theory test required before taking the practical driving test. Yet many drivers never read the Highway Code again once they have thrown away their L plates.
The code has been updated more than 20 times within the last 10 years, making it essential to stay up to date with the latest rules even if you have been behind the wheel for decades.
What It Takes to Pass
When studying for the theory test, learner drivers download apps and read books in hopes of passing and being allowed to sit their driving test. To pass, learner drivers must score 43 out of 50 on the multiple choice questions about driving and achieve 44 out of 75 on the hazard perception section, which includes 14 video clips containing 15 developing hazards.
The Highway Code forms the basis of the multiple choice section, with questions on vehicle handling, roads and traffic signs, hazard awareness, and alertness.
Try the Quiz
The quiz asks: traffic signs giving orders are normally which shape? Options include a white rectangle with a red border, a white circle with a red border, a white triangle with a red border, or a blue rectangle with a white border.
