A new survey has disclosed that more than half of British adults have never stepped inside Buckingham Palace. The findings, published by taxi and private hire firm Veezu, reveal the number of people who have yet to experience some of the UK's most iconic family attractions.
Key Findings from the Survey
According to the research, only 41% of British adults have visited Buckingham Palace, while 49% have never been to the Tower of London. Furthermore, 44% have never made a trip to Alton Towers, and just a third have visited Stonehenge. Other notable sites include Windsor Castle (31% never visited), LEGOLAND (28%), London Zoo (37%), the London Eye (41%), Edinburgh Castle (33%), Blackpool Tower (44%), and Big Ben and Houses of Parliament (41%).
Great British Summer Savings Scheme
The survey coincides with the launch of the Great British Summer Savings Scheme, running from Friday, June 25, to September 1. The government initiative reduces VAT from 20% to 5% on numerous tickets for children and families, covering meals in restaurants, cinema tickets, theatre, concerts, performances, exhibitions, and entry to attractions such as amusement parks, museums, zoos, and nature reserves.
Businesses already enrolled in the scheme include Butlin's, Burger King, Wetherspoons, and Picturehouse Cinemas. The government will also release a digital deal finder to help families locate summer offers from local businesses.
