The Premier League fixtures for the 2026/27 season have been released, but fans of Championship, League One, and League Two sides will need to wait a little longer for their schedules.
When Are EFL Fixtures Released?
The English Football League (EFL) has confirmed that the official fixture list for all three divisions will be published next Thursday, June 25. This includes the Championship, League One, and League Two.
Announcement Time
All schedules will be released simultaneously at 12pm BST. Supporters can access the full 46-game fixture list through club websites and official EFL platforms.
Cup Competitions
Alongside the league fixtures, the first-round draw for the Carabao Cup and the group-stage draw for the Vertu Trophy will also take place on Thursday, June 25.
Season Start Dates
The 2026/27 campaign officially begins with the Carabao Cup first round, scheduled for the weekend of August 7-10. A preliminary round involving selected lower-league sides will be played earlier, from August 1-3.
The first set of Championship, League One, and League Two league matches will be staged the following weekend, across August 14-17. The Premier League season will begin one week later.
Broadcast Information
Television selections for the first half of the season will be confirmed well ahead of time to provide advance notice for travelling fans. The opening weekend will be shown live on Sky Sports and Sky Sports+.
More than 1,000 EFL, Carabao Cup, and Vertu Trophy games will be available live in the UK through Sky Sports and Sky Sports+. In the United States, CBS Sports will broadcast a minimum of 250 live matches.
Key Format Change
A new play-off structure will be introduced for the 2026/27 season. Six clubs will now participate instead of four. Teams finishing third and fourth will advance directly to the semi-finals, while fifth hosts eighth and sixth hosts seventh in newly created single-leg quarter-finals.
