Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis are on track for a combined education bill exceeding three-quarters of a million pounds by the time they turn 18, according to a report by HELLO! magazine. The three royal siblings currently attend Lambrook School in Berkshire, where annual fees have risen sharply following the government's 20% VAT on private schools in 2025.
Current Schooling at Lambrook
Prince William and Princess Catherine enrolled all three children at Lambrook in September 2022. At that time, annual tuition was estimated at £13,167 for Louis, £19,344 for Charlotte, and £20,997 for George, totaling £53,508 per year. By 2025, term fees increased due to the VAT policy, pushing costs higher. The school offers a co-educational preparatory education for children aged 3 to 13.
Previous Educational Choices
The royal couple have consistently opted for private education. Prince George began at Westacre Montessori School in 2016, costing £33 per day. Charlotte and Louis attended Willcocks Nursery School at £14,500 per year. Later, George and Charlotte attended Thomas's Battersea, where term fees ranged from £6,385 to £7,520.
Future Plans and University Costs
Prince George, who turns 13 next month, is set to join Eton College this autumn. Each term at Eton costs approximately £21,099.60, and he is expected to stay for five years. If all three children attend university, as their parents did, the total could reach £1 million. The report notes that the figure "could top three quarters of a million pounds, or over $900,000."
Parental Priority on Education
Prince William emphasized the importance of education in a 2024 interview, stating that it remains a priority for the young royals. The couple's commitment to private schooling reflects their belief in providing a strong academic foundation for their children.
