Wirral Council has confirmed that bin collections will not be affected by the upcoming August bank holiday Monday. Unlike the Christmas period, when collections are often rearranged, residents can expect their bins to be emptied as normal on the bank holiday.
The council told the Local Democracy Reporting Service (LDRS) that no changes will be made to scheduled rounds for the August bank holiday. This means that if your bin is due for collection on that day, it will be collected as usual.
No disruption to scheduled rounds
Many councils across the country typically delay bin collections around bank holidays, which can cause confusion and frustration for residents. However, Wirral Council has confirmed that this will not be the case for the upcoming bank holiday Monday.
The council noted that during the Christmas period, if Christmas Day, Boxing Day, or New Year's Day fall on a weekday, collection teams work over the weekends instead. But no such adjustments are needed for the August bank holiday.
