Two 16-year-old boys have been charged with attempted murder following a violent stabbing at a popular fast-food restaurant in the heart of Leicester.
Attack at City Centre Restaurant
The incident occurred at the German Doner Kebab (GDK) outlet on Granby Street at approximately 1pm on Thursday. A 19-year-old man was stabbed during the altercation and required urgent hospital treatment.
Leicestershire Police swiftly cordoned off the area surrounding the restaurant as they launched an investigation. The East Midlands Ambulance Service transported the victim to hospital, where authorities confirm he remains in a stable condition and continues to receive medical care.
Charges and Arrests
The two teenagers, who cannot be named for legal reasons due to their age, were arrested on Friday and Saturday. They have now been formally charged with attempted murder and possession of an offensive weapon.
Both are scheduled to appear before Leicester Magistrates' Court. In a further development, a third 16-year-old boy has been arrested in connection with the incident and remains in police custody.
Ongoing Investigation and Public Appeal
Leicestershire Police are continuing their inquiries and have made a direct appeal to the public for assistance. Detectives are particularly keen to obtain any mobile phone, CCTV, or dashcam footage from the area at the time of the attack.

Simon Wallis, chief executive of German Doner Kebab, expressed the company's concern: "We are aware of an incident that took place yesterday in Leicester city centre. Our thoughts are with those affected."
The restaurant was temporarily closed to assist the police investigation but has since been advised it can reopen. "The safety of our team and customers remains our top priority," Wallis added.
