Meghan reveals reason behind Claridge's dinner with Malala

Meghan Markle has revealed the reason behind her recent dinner at Claridge's Hotel in London, where she was joined by Nobel Peace Prize winner Malala Yousafzai. The Duchess of Sussex posted new pictures on her personal Instagram showing the pair posing together inside the hotel as she announced a new partnership.

Partnership for girls' education

The duchess was pictured enjoying a girls' dinner in Mayfair last Wednesday, with a video of the two dining together circulating online. Meghan was dressed casually in a cream top with white palazzo trousers and a loose camel coat, paired with beige and brown pointed loafers and a dark Chanel bag. Her look was reported to be worth around £19,000 ($25,000).

A caption on the new Instagram post read: "'When we support the girls of today, we empower the women of tomorrow. Access to education is the key to unlocking this.' – Meghan, Duchess of Sussex & Malala Yousafzai.

"This International Day of the Girl, in partnership with Archewell Philanthropies, 100% of net proceeds from As Ever jams and teas will support Malala Fund and its vital work to ensure that every girl has access to free, safe, quality education. Long-standing connection

The two women first met during a virtual discussion on October 11, 2020, to mark the International Day of the Girl, a cause the duchess is passionate about. In a Zoom chat streamed by the Malala Fund, they spoke about the systemic barriers that prevent millions of girls from accessing education.

This is the latest of Meghan's private appearances since moving back to the UK in the summer. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex relocated to Britain in a U-turn six years after leaving the country. Harry and Meghan reside in the Cotswolds with their two children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet.

Recent UK life

The Sussex children have already been enrolled in British schools. Last week, the Sussexes were seen enjoying a cosy date in the Cotswolds, having an ordinary pub lunch somewhere in Oxfordshire.
