A teenage boy has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder after a violent stabbing at a German Doner Kebab restaurant in Leicester city centre.
Lunchtime Attack in City Centre
The incident occurred at the popular fast-food outlet located at the junction of Granby Street and Bishop Street. Police were called to the scene shortly after 1pm on Thursday, January 15, following reports that a 19-year-old man had been stabbed.
The victim received emergency treatment at the location before being rushed to hospital by the East Midlands Ambulance Service. Authorities have confirmed his condition is now stable, though he continues to receive medical treatment.
Arrest in Connection with Knife Crime
In a significant development, Leicestershire Police arrested a 16-year-old boy on Thursday afternoon. He was taken into custody on suspicion of attempted murder and remains there as enquiries continue.
A police cordon was erected around the kebab shop as forensic officers conducted their investigation, causing disruption in the busy lunchtime area.
