Florida Teen's Mother Blames 'Evil Influence' for Daughter's Murder

The mother of a 14-year-old Florida girl who was shot and set on fire has said she does not hate the teenage suspects, but instead blames an 'evil influence' for the killing.

Danika Troy was lured into woods in Pace, near Pensacola, on Tuesday by 14-year-old Kimahri Blevins and 16-year-old Gabriel Williams, according to the Santa Rosa County Sheriff's Office. The boys allegedly shot her multiple times before setting her body on fire.

'I don't blame those boys. I blame evil influence. I don't hate them, I hate what they did to my baby,' Ashley Troy told the New York Post. She added that she wants them prosecuted 'to the full extent of the law.'

The three teenagers had been friends but fell out over comments made on social media. Williams reportedly told police that Troy had called him 'worthless and a gang-banger.' The gun used in the killing was allegedly stolen by Williams from his mother.

Sheriff Bob Johnson said the motive is unclear but that he will seek to have the suspects charged as adults. 'You do an adult crime, you need to do adult time,' he said. The teens are being held on first-degree murder charges.
