A 12-year-old boy has been charged with sexual assault and wounding after a woman in her 60s was discovered with serious injuries at a residence in Birmingham. The incident occurred on Wednesday evening, prompting an urgent police response to Kellett Road at approximately 6:15 PM.
Victim in Serious Condition
The victim remains hospitalised in a serious condition, underscoring the severity of the assault. Authorities have emphasised the ongoing nature of their investigation, with officers providing reassurance to the local community amid widespread concern.
Additional Charges Filed
In addition to the sexual assault and wounding charges, the boy faces allegations related to a separate theft incident on Wednesday and intentional strangulation. The strangulation charge stems from an earlier confrontation with a woman on the street last month, highlighting a pattern of concerning behaviour.
