Wrong-way M1 crash: three arrested, man seriously hurt

A man is fighting for his life after a serious crash involving a car being driven the wrong way on the M1. The collision took place shortly after 11pm yesterday on the northbound carriageway near junction 41.

Police said the blue Kia Proceed was driven the wrong way up the motorway after failing to stop, colliding with a red Dacia Sandero. The driver of the Dacia, a man in his 20s, was taken to hospital with serious injuries which are being treated as potentially life changing.

Three arrested after crash

Three people have been arrested, including a 15-year-old girl. The arrests follow the incident on the M1 northbound near junction 41.
