Woman Kicks Bouncer's Genitals After Ejection from Bar

Eleanor Carr, 40, was sentenced at Minshull Street Crown Court in Manchester after admitting to smashing a window and kicking a bouncer's genitals. The incident occurred on December 30, 2021, after she was ejected from the G-A-Y venue on Canal Street in Manchester's Gay Village.

Violent Response to Ejection

Sentencing judge Recorder Mark Ainsworth told Carr: "On the night of December 30, 2021, you were out in Manchester. You had been to a bar in Manchester, you had been ejected from that bar. The reason isn’t too obvious. You responded to that with violence."

The court heard that Carr picked up a metal road sign and used it to smash a window at the venue. She then got into an altercation with a security worker, kicking him in the genitals and biting him, causing "minimal skin breakage".

Lengthy Legal Process

Recorder Ainsworth noted that the case had "a remarkably lengthy history". Carr initially admitted criminal damage but denied assaulting the bouncer, awaiting trial before later pleading guilty to section 47 assault.

The judge acknowledged that Carr had experienced physical and mental problems since the incident, stating: "Having read the reports it appears a lot of water has passed under the bridge since 2021 in your life."

Sentence and Compensation

Carr was sentenced to an 18-month community order, including 25 rehabilitation activity requirement days and a six-month alcohol treatment requirement. The judge warned: "You have got to comply with this order for everyone’s sake, not least your own."

She was also ordered to pay £159.36 compensation for the window damage and £500 towards prosecution costs. Carr, of Ilminster Walk, Blackley, pleaded guilty to section 47 assault and criminal damage.
