Woman Gang Raped After Six Masked Robbers Break Into Home

A 40-year-old woman was allegedly gang raped after six masked men broke into her home in the Alirajpur district of Madhya Pradesh, India, on Friday night (July 10). Police said two of the six men raped the victim before the group fled with silver ornaments and a mobile phone.

Attack and Injuries

The woman was alone at the time of the break-in. She sustained serious injuries and was rushed to hospital, where she required surgery. A crime scene was established at her home as detectives work to determine the circumstances of the attack.

Police Investigation and Public Appeal

Superintendent of Police Raghuvansh Kumar Singh said: "Prima facie, it appears that the individuals entered the house with the intention of committing robbery, though all angles are being investigated." The investigation is ongoing, and police have appealed to the public for any relevant information.

Political Reaction and Concerns

The attack has raised concerns over women's safety in the state. Chief Minister Mohan Yadav has been urged to investigate the case, with local politician Vikrant Bhuria calling it "shameful." Bhuria reassured the public that the attackers will face the strictest punishment.

The Alirajpur district, located near the borders of Gujarat and Maharashtra, is known for its mango production and trading.
