Police in India have arrested four men accused of gang-raping a woman after she missed her bus. The victim, who had gone to a relative's house, was waiting for another bus when the alleged assault occurred.
Incident and Arrest
The woman reported the crime to police in the Korea district, where she managed to escape and reach her home. A case was registered, and the suspects were identified and taken into custody on Tuesday.
Surajpur Additional Superintendent of Police Yogesh Kumar Devangan said: "Immediate action was taken on the basis of the victim's complaint and the evidence available. All four accused had been arrested and sent to jail under judicial remand."
Investigation Underway
Since the incident occurred within the jurisdiction of Chandni police station in Surajpur district, the case was subsequently transferred there for further investigation, which is currently ongoing.
