A 44-year-old woman has died and a 46-year-old man has been arrested following a disturbance at a property in Edinburgh.
Emergency Services Called to Craigievar Square
Emergency services were called to Craigievar Square at approximately 8:45pm on Monday, 20 July 2026, after reports of a disturbance. Upon arrival, officers found the woman with serious injuries; she was pronounced dead at the scene.
The man has since been arrested in connection with the incident. Police Scotland confirmed that his next of kin have been informed and that enquiries are ongoing.
Nearby Pub Locked Down as Precaution
The Mid Yoken pub, located just over a mile from the scene, was also locked down and is being guarded by police as a precautionary measure. A police presence remains in the area while investigations continue.

There is no risk to the wider public and a police presence will remain in the area while enquiries continue."
