A man in his 70s has died after being trampled by cattle at Felbrigg Hall, a National Trust property near Cromer in North Norfolk. The incident occurred just before midday on Monday, 13 July 2026. Emergency services attended, but the man was pronounced dead at the scene.
Investigation Underway
Norfolk Constabulary confirmed that next of kin have been informed. A spokesperson said: 'His next of kin have been informed. Officers are investigating alongside colleagues from the Health and Safety Executive.' The Health and Safety Executive (HSE) also confirmed it is aware of the incident and making inquiries with the police.
National Trust Response
A National Trust spokesperson expressed shock and sadness, stating: 'We are shocked and deeply saddened by this news, and our thoughts and condolences are with their family and friends at this incredibly difficult time.' The trust added that a member of the public was 'seriously injured while walking' and died despite paramedics' efforts.
Felbrigg Hall, Garden and Estate has been closed and will remain shut on Tuesday, 14 July, according to a statement on the National Trust website.
