Two Teens Arrested After Boy Stabbed in Everton

Two teenagers have been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder after a 16-year-old boy was seriously assaulted on Breck Road in Everton. The victim, who was stabbed and struck over the head, remains in a serious condition in hospital.

Incident Details

Merseyside Police were called to the Lutine Bell pub on Breck Road at approximately 2.15pm on Wednesday, October 21, following reports that a teenager had been attacked nearby. The boy sustained head and chest injuries and was taken to hospital for assessment.

A 16-year-old boy and a 15-year-old boy were arrested on suspicion of attempted murder. A 37-year-old man and a 41-year-old woman have also been detained on suspicion of assisting an offender. All four remain in custody as enquiries continue.

Witness Accounts

A woman whose relative owns the Lutine Bell described how customers rushed out into the rain to assist the injured teenager, bringing him inside the pub and contacting emergency services. She said: "They were the ones who looked after him and called an ambulance. They brought him inside. It's horrific, he's just a kid."

One eyewitness, passing through the area at approximately 2pm, reported seeing three men fighting while running through the street. He said: "They were all fighting, leaping in the air and kicking each other. They were fighting over by the shutters and then they went over to the solicitors (Paul Crowley and Co) and carried on fighting there."

A member of staff at Madina Superstore also witnessed a man fleeing the location. "There was a man running wearing grey shorts and a puffer coat," they said. "He was running so fast I couldn't make out his face."

Police Investigation

A substantial police cordon remains in place outside the pub, with a white tent erected within the cordoned-off area. Police confirmed the tent was put up due to adverse weather conditions. The incident is believed to have occurred next to a line of bins at the end of Rydal Street, where forensic officers also examined a tarpaulin-covered vehicle.

Breck Road remains shut at the junction with Breckfield Road North. Detective Chief Inspector Paula Jones stated: "Although we have four people in custody we are continuing to appeal for anyone who was in the area of Breck Road shortly after 2pm and saw, heard or captured anything please get in touch."
