Two people were left fighting for their lives following a three-vehicle crash on the A40. Emergency services were called to the stretch of road at Scethrog, Brecon at around 4.35pm on Tuesday [August 4] following reports of a three-vehicle crash.
Vehicles involved and injuries
Dyfed-Powys Police said the collision involved a grey BMW 1 series, a white Mercedes EQA and a yellow Ford Transit.
Two people, who were passengers in the Mercedes, were flown to hospital with life-threatening injuries. The driver of the Mercedes and the Ford were taken to hospital with minor injuries.
Arrest and appeal
Police said the driver of the BMW, an 18-year-old man, was arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving and has since been released pending further enquiries.
A spokesperson added: "Officers are appealing for anyone with information that could help with their investigation, or anyone who was travelling along the road at the relevant time with dashcam footage, to report it to Dyfed-Powys Police."
