A 41-year-old man and a 31-year-old woman have died following a road collision in Co Antrim. The incident occurred on Saturday evening in the Glenariffe area of Ballymena, involving a silver Ford Transit Custom van.
Crash details
Police received a report of the crash on the Glenariffe Road shortly before 9.10pm. Officers attended alongside colleagues from the Northern Ireland Ambulance Service and Northern Ireland Fire and Rescue Service.
The two occupants of the van were pronounced deceased at the scene. No other injuries were reported.
Police investigation
The Glenariffe Road was closed for a time but has since fully reopened. Police are continuing their inquiries and have appealed for anyone who witnessed the collision or has information to come forward.
“We would appeal to anyone who witnessed the collision, or who may have any information which could assist with our investigation, including dash-cam or other footage, to contact the Collision Investigation Unit on 101, quoting reference number 1423 18/07/26,” a police spokesperson said.
