Two children aged 11 and 13 and a 21-year-old woman were taken to hospital after a ride malfunctioned at Maltby Crags Fair in Rotherham on Friday. Emergency services attended the scene after a ride reportedly malfunctioned, with images shared online showing a large emergency response including an air ambulance.
Ride 'came off the track'
A local posted on social media: "A car came off the track, and another one crashed into it." The person also claimed that people fell from the ride. It has not been established how the ride allegedly malfunctioned.
Police confirm injuries
A South Yorkshire Police spokesman said: "Emergency services are currently in attendance at an incident at Maltby Crags Fair in Rotherham after two young people, aged 11 and 13, and a 21-year-old woman were injured while on a ride."
"They have been taken to hospital for treatment and the fairground has now closed for the evening (11 September)."
"Blyth Lane was closed between Muglet Lane and Victoria Road to allow people to safely exit the fairground but has since been reopened."
