Trump shares tiger attack video of British man killed at Yorkshire park

Donald Trump has shared video footage of a British man being fatally attacked by a tiger at Yorkshire Wildlife Park near Doncaster to his 13 million followers on his social media platform Truth Social.

The US President posted the brief clip with the caption: "Don't ever mess with nature!". The Mirror and other publications have not shared the video due to its nature, but Mr Trump used it as fodder for his followers.

Footage shows attack on William Chapman

The video depicts the animal biting and clawing the victim, since named as William Chapman, as he sat within the enclosure, though not the actual killing. Mr Chapman was a former child actor who appeared on BBC and ITV.

Mr Trump subsequently followed this with another post containing a video compilation that appeared to feature multiple individuals being attacked by lions, set to an upbeat soundtrack.

Health and safety inquiry launched

A health and safety inquiry has been initiated into the incident at Yorkshire Wildlife Park, where Mr Chapman lost his life after entering the tiger enclosure on Saturday, reports the Daily Record.

The park will stay shut on Wednesday for a fifth consecutive day following the attack. Emergency services were alerted shortly after 1.30pm on October 10 when Mr Chapman, who police confirmed was visiting the park by himself, entered the enclosure. He was declared dead at the scene.

Tiger will not be euthanised

The man, described as in his 20s, jumped into the tiger enclosure at the zoo as terrified onlookers urged him to "play dead". The Amur tiger, named Altai, then viciously attacked Mr Chapman and he was later pronounced dead at the scene.

He had filmed chilling footage of himself approaching the tiger breathing heavily in the moments before the mauling. Witnesses said Mr Chapman had seemed "so happy" before he climbed into the enclosure with police confirming he was not accompanied by anyone at the time of the attack.

The park confirmed that the tiger will not be euthanised following the incident.
