Tribute to tiger attack victim William Chapman after park death

William Chapman, the young man killed in a tiger attack at Yorkshire Wildlife Park, has been remembered by his former stage school, which said he "will always hold a special place in our hearts."

Chapman, believed to be in his 20s, died after entering the animal's enclosure on Saturday, October 10. Emergency services were called shortly after 1.30pm, but he was pronounced dead at the scene.

Former stage school pays tribute

Chapman, a former child actor who appeared in shows for the BBC and ITV, attended the Jackie Palmer Stage School & Agency. In a Facebook post, the school expressed its sadness at his passing.

"We are deeply saddened to hear of the passing of our former student, William Chapman," the post read. "Our thoughts and heartfelt condolences are with William's family and friends during this incredibly difficult time.

"We loved watching William grow, both as a person and as a performer, during his time with us. It was a privilege to be part of his journey, and he will be remembered with great fondness by everyone who had the pleasure of knowing him.

"William will be truly missed, and he will always hold a special place in our hearts. Rest in peace, William."

Park remains closed

Yorkshire Wildlife Park has remained closed since the incident. The park has not yet commented on when it might reopen.
