A Merseyside Police spokesperson said: 'We can confirm that emergency services were called to an address on Brownmoor Lane in Crosby on Saturday evening (July 18) following a report a three-year-old boy had fallen into a pond. The North West Ambulance Service and police attended and the child was taken by ambulance to hospital for treatment where he was sadly pronounced deceased.' The spokesperson added: 'Our officers continue to support the family and enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances of what happened.'
