Three children were taken to hospital after an incident on a ride at Maltby Crags Fair in Rotherham on the evening of 11 September. Emergency services were called to the scene at around 7.30pm, and the fairground has since been closed for the night.

South Yorkshire Police confirmed it had received reports of the incident involving three children aged between 11 and 13. The injuries sustained by all three are not believed to be serious, according to The Mirror.
Police said: "Emergency services are currently in attendance at an incident at Maltby Crags Fair in Rotherham after three young people aged between 11 and 13 suffered minor injuries while on a ride. They have been taken to hospital as a precaution and for treatment and the fairground has now closed for the evening (11 September)."
Road closure and social media reports
Blyth Lane was closed between Muglet Lane and Victoria Road to allow people to safely exit the fairground but has since been reopened.
Local South Yorkshire residents took to social media claiming that one of the funfair's rides had "malfunctioned", YorkshireLive reports. Former Rother Valley MP Alexander Stafford wrote on Facebook: "News from the fair in Maltby, where a ride has reportedly injured a child. I believe only one child is involved, but please check on your children if they are currently there."
