A teenager wielding a machete was filmed chasing a man through a busy street packed with people outside nightclubs and bars in Birmingham.
Footage shows chase on Broad Street
Police were called to Birmingham's Broad Street complex after the man was spotted brandishing the weapon near the Black Sabbath Bridge. Mobile phone footage captured the teenager running across the street while onlookers shout: 'He's got a machete, what the f**k?'
He could be seen picking up an object from the floor before running back past several bars along one of the city's busiest roads. Onlookers could be heard laughing before another person said: 'Oi, there's some feds there,' as police passed by. Others shouted: 'He's got a knife, he's got a knife!' as two officers began chasing the suspect on foot.
Suspect charged and remanded
Raid Alamansuly, 19, was later arrested and charged with possession of a bladed article and possession of class B drugs. He pleaded guilty to both charges and was remanded in custody ahead of his sentencing on September 2.
The footage has been viewed thousands of times after being uploaded to social media. One person said: 'Why are people laughing and smiling?' Another added: 'My beautiful city has changed so much over the years.'
