Teen charged after man filmed with machete in Norris Green

A 17-year-old boy has been charged after a man was filmed carrying a large machete-type knife in Norris Green. Merseyside Police received a report at around 5.30pm on Thursday, August 27, that a male was in possession of a bladed weapon on Broad Lane.

Arrest and charge

Officers attended the scene and arrested a suspect. Police confirmed that no one was harmed during the incident. Footage shared widely on social media appears to show a male brandishing a large bladed weapon as he walks down a road. The footage is believed to be connected to the incident.

Court appearance

A 17-year-old boy from Liverpool, who cannot be named for legal reasons, has since been charged with possession of an offensive weapon in a public place. He was due to appear before Liverpool Youth Court today, Friday, August 28.
