The incident occurred at approximately 5:25 PM on July 7, involving a grey Kawasaki EX650 motorcycle and a blue Skoda Fabia car near Lady Clough Moor. The rider, a man in his 20s from Lincolnshire, sustained serious but not life-threatening injuries and was taken to hospital for treatment.

The driver of the Skoda, a woman in her 20s from Derbyshire, remained at the scene and is cooperating with police inquiries. No arrests have been made.

Road Closure and Impact

The A57 Snake Pass, a key route linking Greater Manchester to South Yorkshire, was closed between Glossop and Bamford while emergency services responded. Derbyshire Police urged drivers to avoid the area. The road reopened shortly after 11 PM.

A Derbyshire Police spokesperson stated: "A motorcyclist suffered serious injuries following a collision on the Snake Pass. The rider of the motorcycle, a man in his 20s from Lincolnshire, suffered serious, but not life-threatening, injuries and remains at hospital receiving treatment. The driver of the Skoda stopped at the scene and is helping officers with their enquiries."
