The Latin music world is in mourning after the tragic death of 22-year-old rising star Maria de la Rosa, who performed under the stage name DELAROSA. The singer and social media influencer was killed in what police have described as an ambush-style attack in the Northridge area of Los Angeles.
The Fatal Ambush
The incident occurred in the early hours of Saturday morning, around 1:25 am. According to authorities, two men approached a parked car where de la Rosa was sitting with two other individuals. The assailants opened fire on the vehicle in a brutal attack.
Emergency services rushed the victims to a nearby hospital, where Maria de la Rosa was pronounced dead. The two other occupants of the car also sustained injuries in the shooting, though their current conditions have not been disclosed to the public.
A Rising Career Cut Short
At just 22 years old, DELAROSA was on the cusp of a promising music career. She had recently released her debut single and was building a significant online following.
