Ryanair Passenger Saved by Wife After Window Breaks Mid-Flight

A Ryanair passenger was nearly sucked out of a window during a flight from Greece to Germany after the window broke when the engine behind it failed. The 61-year-old man was saved by his wife, who held him by his legs, according to local media reports.

Incident Details

The couple were on a Boeing 737-8AS flying from Thessaloniki to Memmingen on Friday. The window dislodged shortly after take-off, and the man was partially pulled into the slipstream. He suffered shock and friction burns from the icy air outside before his wife managed to pull him back in.

Emergency Response

The flight returned to Thessaloniki, where it landed normally. The man received medical assistance on the ground. Ryanair arranged a replacement aircraft to take passengers to Memmingen, departing at 9:53 local time.
